A surprise in the garden...

When we got home, I went out into the garden to bring in the washing and was stopped dead in my tracks. After many years of growing, my mistletoe has a grand total of 7 berries on it! I nipped inside quick to get a photograph before the birds discover them.

  1. I love Wells-next-the-sea, I've been there many times. Lovely place. Fantasticis mistletoe - you know I've never seen mistletoe growing anywhere.

    1. One day I went over to King's Lynn and had a walk through St. James Park (I think). Anyway, the area closest to the railway line has some very tall tress in them, and at the top of them are bunches and bunches of mistletoe. Never seen so much in my life.

    1. Hello Littlebit! We have tried for years to get some to grow in our little back garden. Gave up, then 2 years ago (maybe 3), we saw two little leaves growing out of one of our arch trained apple trees. Within a year it was around the size of a football, now it is bigger but I cut it back in summer. First year it has some berries on it.

  3. The weather here in the Mid-West continues to be quite mild. At this time of year we walk whenever we can as we could get snow at anytime.

    1. Don't blame you, it is either very hard walk to walk in snow or dangerous.

    1. We still have a few more 'new to us' walks to do yet but as we were on our own, went back to Wells. Nice and quiet this time of year.

  5. Haven't been to Wells for months! Lovely pics, thank you. I think I should be a bit more intrepid with my camera for the blog, I tend not to bother with it when the weather is murky, but you've shown me there are some very good shots to take even when the sun don't shine! Lx

    1. Thank you although luckily, I have a good photo programme that corrects the light etc so that makes a difference.
