I think this side of the country is now going to escape storm Emma and its large dump of snow. The west unfortunately is going to get it full on so I hope people take note of the red weather warning.
We had a long walk yesterday, bracing was a good description. We kept close to the village, not wanting to risk driving. We had a light lunch in a local pub but walking home from there was awful. The wind had increased, our faces were freezing and we were glad to get back inside the house.
Take care those of you affected by the weather already and what is to come!
It's all very extreme for this part of our world, isn't it? Makes you realise how lucky we are really.

Certainly does.
DeleteWe're in a red zone area...logs in...dog walked...learners cancelled...rattling door barricaded...fire lit...pasties made...hubby still home poorly...we're in...and staying put! x
ReplyDeleteWe had a long power cut but back on now thankfully. Stay put!
DeleteStill bad our way. Hubby's building site has been shut (elf & safety) so an enforced snow day. All schools in county closed - even daughter's today where she teaches. Son can't get in either. We've all just been sledging - had to stop though as 2 little granddaughters not too keen! Other son over in Leeds has just about managed to get to work via late trains! Come on storm Emma - let's get it over & done with.
ReplyDeleteShould be more normal next week hopefully.
DeleteWindy here, worse and colder than yesterday. Have to go out tomorrow but we will be very quick.
ReplyDeleteWe're in Torbay in the red warning area and they're not joking. We're snowed in as the three steep hills up to our house have been closed by the police. No buses are running either. It was -5 yesterday. All the schools are closed. We've got very strong winds as well but no power cuts as yet :-)
